What is it?
This article will show you the steps involved in creating a Discount Code. Discount Codes are used to offer your members discounts on form submissions. There are three different Discount Code options, which are outlined below.
How to Access
Discount codes are configurable by navigating to the Pricing of your Form.
Configuring a Discount Code
You have three options when it comes to configuring a discount code. You can:
- Take a specified amount off the form total
- Take a percentage off the form total
- Use an alternate pricing scheme *Note: This is the option you'll want to use when creating a discount code if your organization uses the Revenue Account Report
Option 1: “The discount code will take a specified amount off the form total.”
1. Choose “Add a discount code”.
2. Choose which type of discount code you would like to create.
3. Name the Discount Code.
4. Include a description of the objective of the Discount Code.
5. Set the Status to Active.
6. Chose a Start Date. (This will be the day the Discount Code will become valid)
7. Choose an End Date. (This will be the day the Discount Code will become invalid)
8. Input the “Amount to take off the form total":
9. Select whether to “Apply Discount To: Total Amount, Initial Payment, Recurring Payments, or Initial and Recurring Payments.
10. Save.
Option 2: “The discount code will take a specified percentage off the form total.”
1. Choose “Add a discount code”.
2. Choose which type of discount code you would like to create.
3. Name the Discount Code.
4. Include a description of the objective of the Discount Code.
5. Set the Status to Active.
6. Chose a Start Date. (This will be the day the Discount Code will become valid)
7. Choose an End Date. (This will be the day the Discount Code will become invalid)
8. Input the “Percentage to take off the form total:”
9. Select whether to “Apply Discount To:” Total Amount, Initial Payment, Recurring Payments, or Initial and Recurring Payments.
10. Save.
Option 3: “The discount code will cause the form to use an alternate pricing scheme for fields.”
1. Choose “Add a discount code”.
2. Choose which type of discount code you would like to create.
3. Name the Discount Code.
4. Include a description of the objective of the Discount Code.
5. Set the Status to Active.
6. Chose a Start Date. (This will be the day the Discount Code will become valid)
7. Choose an End Date. (This will be the day the Discount Code will become invalid)
8. Under “Form fields included in price calculation:” select ‘edit’ for the fee the Discount code is intended to alter.
9. The pricing options for the field will be populated with the ‘Default Pricing’ from the standard pricing of the form.
10. Click within the pricing option that is being adjusted.
11. Enter the amount the Discount Code is intended to charge.
12. Save.
13. Save all of the settings before continuing.
Using a Discount Code - Member View
1. When a Discount Code is ‘active’ the Discount Code entry field will be available on the payment page of your form.
2. Enter the Discount Code
3. Apply
4. The Discount Code will be triggered and alter the pricing.
5. Choose Payment Option.
6. Continue to Payment.
