What is it?
The Attribute Security page enables you to control what users in a group can view and edit in their own profiles, as well as in the profiles of other groups.
How to Access
Navigate to Database > Attribute Management > Attribute Security

Editing Attribute Security
From the drop down at the top of the Attribute Security page, select the user group you would like to update.
On this page you will see a column “Attributes for XXX”. This column displays all of the attributes assigned to the group you selected from the drop down.
On the far left you will see a column called Profile Owner. The Profile Owner column controls what a member of the group specified can view about their own profile.
Click the icon until you have the appropriate icon selected based off what you want them to do.
- The eyeball symbol
means users can view the attribute specified
- The tool symbol
means users can view and edit the attribute specified
- The red "NO" symbol
means users cannot see or edit the attribute specified
The columns on the righthand side of the page display all of the groups within your MemberClicks database. These columns control what the group listed at the top of the column can see and/or edit about the group selected in the dropdown.
For example, if you selected Student Member from the drop down at the top of the page, you would want to select the Tool symbol for all of the attributes under the Admin column. Doing so would mean that anyone in the Admin group could View and Edit all attributes for the Member group.
5. After updating all Attribute Security settings, click Save. Continue this for each group until you are satisfied with your security.
Example
When a Student Member logs in they can:
-View and Edit their Photo
-View the Member Since date
-View and Edit their Contact name
-View their group
When a Student member logs in, they cannot:
-View or edit their Mailing Address 1
-Edit their Member Since date
-Edit their group
When someone logs in as an Admin and looks at a Student Member's profile they have the ability to view and edit all the attributes for the Member group.
Members of the Affiliate and Employee Member groups can:
-View Student Members' Photos
-View Student Members' groups
-View Student Members' Contact Names
Members of the public and basic contacts cannot view or edit any attributes in Student Members' profiles.
